How can you tell Jax is uber-bored today? :P

Here're some really useful ESL websites I've found:

http://www.nclrc.org/essentials - Some of the more theoretical aspects of language teaching.

http://www.eigozai.com - Most of this page is in Japanese, but I just ran it through Google translator, and most of it was understandable. Has lessons and sound clips.

http://www.usingenglish.com - Really, really useful page. Has a glossary of grammatical terms (how many of you know what an "inchoative verb" is?), quizzes, handouts, etc, etc

http://www.englishclub.com - One of the most useful sites I've found. Has loads of games and stuff for the kids to play.

http://www.eslpod.com - One for the kids, perhaps. I'm putting a link of it onto my notice board, in case any of them feel super-motivated or something (wishful thinking, I know!!). Downloadable podcasts of English lessons.

Ha! I'm here! Not much to say besides thanks for the cool links and it's nice to be told by the internet that I exist.

Life has been pretty mad. We've just finished summer school. It was fun but after repeating the same lesson 8 time you really feel finished. Also, one of the older JETS described the frame of mind you have to be in to entertain the kids as 'borderline retarded', and it turns out he was totally right. I acted like a mad fool for two days. But that's over now. Tomorrow, Japanese lessons!

Re: *first post dance*

hey jon!

haha. i know the feeling. i've been helping with summer classes for handicapped kids at my second school. being a tape recorder sucks.

"common becomes uncommon
advantaged becomes disadvantaged
happu becomes unhappy" etc for three hours. :P

and you've got another thing coming if you think it's over. :P my little "hello my name is .... i am from south africa. yes, really. no, not south america. no, i'm not american. yes, south africa." bit has been repeated at least thrice daily, and there's no sign of it ending, or of people believing that i can actually be from africa if i'm white any time soon. :P
